  iWindCr was a proof-of-concept wireless sensor network for non-destructive corrosion detection and monitoring of offshore wind turbine steel components (notably monopile-transition-piece, MP-TP, structures). It used miniaturised sensors applying electrochemical techniques - Open Circuit Potential (OCP) and Zero Resistance Ammeter (ZRA) - linked over an IoT/satellite-terrestrial backhaul to a control room. Developed by Avonwood Developments with University of Portsmouth and Southampton Solent University under Innovate UK funding, it was field-trialled on one UK offshore turbine before the project concluded in March 2019.
