Wind Fleet Live terms of use

Who we are. Wind Fleet Live is run by PELERGY LTD ("Pelergy"), registered in England and Wales under company number 11052412, registered office Belmont Suite, Paragon Business Park, Chorley New Road, Horwich, Bolton, England, BL6 6HG. Contact: mike@pelergy.com.

What these terms cover. The Wind Fleet Live map, the detections feed, the vessel and wind farm profiles under pelergy.com/tools/wind-fleet, and the data files behind them. By using Wind Fleet Live you accept these terms.

Pelergy's rights.Pelergy compiles Wind Fleet Live by selecting, checking and classifying vessel positions, detections, vessel and wind farm profiles and their sources. The compilation is protected by copyright and by database right: in the UK under the Copyright and Rights in Databases Regulations 1997, and in the EU under Directive 96/9/EC. Third-party data credited on the page stays under its own licence (see "Third-party data" below).

What you may do.

  • View Wind Fleet Live and use what you see in your own work.
  • Share links to any Wind Fleet Live page.
  • Quote short extracts, such as one detection or one profile fact, with the credit "Source: Pelergy, Wind Fleet Live" and a link to the page.

What you may not do without Pelergy's written permission.

  • Extract or reuse all or a substantial part of the data, including by repeatedly extracting small parts.
  • Collect data by automated means, including scrapers, crawlers, bots and scripts, from the pages or the data files.
  • Republish, sell or license the data, or use it to build a competing product or service.
  • Use the content or data for text and data mining or to train artificial intelligence models. Pelergy expressly reserves these rights under Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790. The reservation is also published in machine-readable form at pelergy.com/.well-known/tdmrep.json and in pelergy.com/robots.txt.

Accuracy. Wind Fleet Live is built automatically from AIS, a public maritime broadcast. Positions can be delayed or wrong, and detections are automated and can misclassify. Each detection records a vessel, a place and a duration; Pelergy does not state why a vessel was there. Wind Fleet Live is not for navigation. Pelergy provides it as it is, without warranty, and is not liable for decisions made on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Third-party data. Vessel positions are derived from AIS received via aisstream.io. Wind farm boundaries come from EMODnet Human Activities, licensed CC BY 4.0. Map tiles come from OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles, with map data © OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database Licence. Their own licences apply to their data, and these terms do not restrict it.

Changes and law. Pelergy may update these terms; the date below shows the current version. The laws of England and Wales govern these terms, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
